Due to social distancing/quarantine requirements across the country, employment or tenant background checks can be affected. Select courthouses in various states have temporarily closed onsite access.  Automated (electronic) access may still be available.

In states where not all courts have closed (only select Counties), VeriFirst clients can talk to us about options to conduct electronic court searches, national database searches, and/or statewide criminal searches.

We urge HR teams to contact us to discuss options for screening applicants and employees during these closures. Options may include modifying current background check packages and/or proactively submitting requests to stay ahead of researcher backlogs.

**CA: **Humboldt, Lake, courts are closed. Orders cannot be completed at this time.Alameda, Alpine, Amador, Calaveras, Colusa, Contra Costa, Del Norte, El Dorado, Fresno, Imperial, Inyo, Kern, Lassen, Marin, Mariposa, Mendocino, Merced, Mono, Monterey, Napa, Orange, Placer, Plumas, Riverside, Sacramento, San Bernardino, San Francisco, San Joaquin, San Luis Obispo, San Mateo, Santa Barbara, Santa Clara, Sierra, Solano, Sonoma, Stanislaus, Sutter, Tehama, Tulare, Ventura, Yolo, courts are closed. Most orders can be completed using an online source and clerk assistance. However, some case information may not be available at this time. If all case information cannot be obtained the result will be held.

**DE: All courts** have closed. Duration is currently unknown. Orders cannot be completed at this time. 

**FL: **Baker, Bay, Bradford, Broward, Calhoun, Charlotte, Clay, Columbia, Dade, Dixie, Duval, Escambia, Franklin, Glades, Hendry, Indian River, Jefferson, Lee, Leon, Levy, Manatee, Martin, Nassau, Okaloosa, Okeechobee, Orange, Palm Beach, Putnam, Santa Rosa, Sarasota, Seminole, St. Lucie, Sumter, Union, Volusia, Wakulla, courts are closed. **GA: **Hancock, Johnson, Tattnall, Treutlen, are closed. Duration is currently unknown.
